The way Google Chrome has smacked itself a niche in the minds of an average Asian viewer and Net surfer. Both the ads, where the Tanjore paintings are promoted by small time businessman in a remote town and turned into an E-Commerce website by the name of Tanjore Oviyam (Paintings in Tamil- another splendid idea!)and the second one is a housewife bored to death at home after her kids leave for school and is looking for creative ideas, is inspired to start a food blog- “Archana’s Kitchen“, (Archana’s Kitchen is a website that has vegetarian recipes for smart and healthy living. The recipes have detailed cooking methods with illustrative photographs, cooking guides and more.) are pretty marvelous. The first in the series of the now famous Google Chrome Ads is Dear Sophie, targeting an Asian father using all the Google tools like Gmail, Picassa to capture the entire childhood of his first daughter to show to her later. Brilliant concept. Struck home like a bolt! You can watch it here

Brilliant is an understatement.

I am mighty impressed at the India ad-positioning and also the complete India focus, right from the way small business is struggling to how it can be enabled in the case of the Tanjore paintings, where a tradition and culture rich country as ours has numerous artisans struggling to carve a spot in the fast electronic driven world, simply arm- twist technology to facilitate themselves, thus smocking a thumb at the latest world of gadgetry! Ha! That was very very sweet justice.

The imagery is wonderful to say the least and the various steps of building the website has been shown very correctly as if making a Home. Another stroke of brilliance. Because this is how the whole thing actually works. Everything that a small business needs to thrive on the Internet has been effectively used- The Google Ad Words Campaign, the Google Plus One, the Security of paying online, the versatility of displaying products and making an effective sell.
